The best way for you to learn about me, and what I do, is to take a look at a day in the life of a copywriter in Vail, Colorado. . . .

2:00 a.m. Wake with a start – fabulous new idea! Write it down on pad of paper. I am never more than an arm’s reach from a notepad – 24/7! Because here’s the thing, being a writer doesn’t happen from 9-to-5 – I eat, drink, breathe and sleep words.
7:00 a.m. Wake up – sometimes earlier, sometimes later. I make coffee immediately and start in on the paper. Great writers read – a lot. I am constantly getting inspiration from newspapers, magazines, books, blogs, websites, etc.
8:00 a.m. Write! My most productive hours of the day begin now. I spend most of my morning brainstorming, researching and writing. Projects include all forms of communication such as ad campaigns, web content, brand manuals, press releases, email blasts, newsletters, direct mail copy, media kits, sales packages and even comprehensive marketing strategies.
9:00 a.m. Depending on the day, I either meet with a client to discuss a project, or catch up on emails and phone calls. I work with business of all sizes located primarily throughout Colorado’s Front Range and mountain communities, but nationally as well.
11:30 a.m. The middle of my day is usually occupied with some physical activity – I like trail running, mountain biking, skiing, hiking and yoga. Nothing makes for a more productive afternoon than a little exercise!
1:00 p.m. Resume morning projects. Spend the afternoon writing, revising, revising, revising and proofing copy. Completed projects go out before 5 p.m., as most of my clients are “9-to-5ers.”
5:00 p.m. Finish up with day’s phone calls, emails, etc. Set task list for the following workday. I’m a big sticky note person! This is occasionally followed by happy hour (visit www.happyhourboulder.com)!
8:00 p.m. Complete any remaining tasks. I try to have all my work completed by the late evening, but the wheels are always turning. Sometimes inspiration hits at inconvenient times, but as any seasoned writer will tell you, you can’t let those moments pass, which is why I’m often huddled in bed with my laptop.
I am located in Colorado, where I received my formal education as a writer in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Colorado, Boulder (BS, News-Editorial, 2003) and professional training as a copywriter in an agency environment. I pride myself on being an authentic, educated, experienced, freelance writer with professional credentials.
